Please re-blog!
Hey everyone.
I realize we cut the tour blog a bit abruptly. Sorry about that. Here’s an update:
Last Wednesday, after driving a short, yet scenic drive through the mountains from Asheville, NC to Johnson City, TN, Andrew and I both decided to cut the tour a few days short and head home after our show that night with Mike Vial at the Acoustic Coffeehouse in Johnson City. I essentially had a mental breakdown and realized a lot of my unresolved issues that the tour was supposed to help me forget about all came flooding back into my brain and really made me miss the comfort zone of home. Andrew also missed his friends and loved ones, so we drove 12.5 hours straight through from Johnson City, TN back to Mt. Pleasant. We will make it up to you soon, Notre Dame. Hopefully y’all had fun with Ratboy and Nathan K. without us!
On Saturday we played at Woobie’s Bar in Flint, MI with our pals Elliot Street Lunatic, Good Weather For Airstrikes, Tiger! Tiger! and a few more bands. It was a nice welcome back of sorts and it felt good to play our music for some familiar faces, as well as some new ones as we had not yet played in Flint since Wavvy Hands formed. Andrew and I both played a show there in early 2011 as V + The Nicotine Machine and Galactic Vacationer, respectively.
Today we played the kickoff luau for Relay For Life at CMU. It was an unusual setting, but we enjoyed it none the less. We were asked to play at the Relay itself in April on campus and we are going to try to make it work, though that will be a busy week for us!
Currently we’re waiting to hear back from some music festivals we’ve applied for as well as some other shows we are hoping to play support on for some bigger national acts. We’ll be recording on Wednesday with Moore Media Records at CMU for their “Live from Studio A” sampler that will come out in April and then we play Thursday at Founder’s in Grand Rapids with Life Size Ghost and Elliot Street Lunatic, followed by Saturday at Rubble’s in Mt. Pleasant with Elliot Street, Good Weather for Airstrikes and Tiger! Tiger!
It’s a busy time for Wavvy Hands. It’s exciting and exhausting all the same.

Our EP “A Million Eyes” is also now available for download on our Bandcamp page.
It’s a “name your own price” set up for the digital version. If you pay ANYTHING for the EP, we will email you a brand new track called “Stethoscope” that we just finished last night and have not yet even played live. We’ll be playing it on Thursday night and throughout the tour, but you can get an exclusive sneak peak by paying even just $1 for our EP on our Bandcamp.
Support local music!
Support our crazy ideas for touring a lot in 2012!
We start working on the 2nd EP today.
Release shows are already coming together (4/12 @ Rubble’s, 4/18 @ Mac’s Bar, more to come)
In the MEANTIME, you can pre-order the debut EP on our bandcamp page and help us cover the rest of the production costs.

Well, we formed as a band in August, played our first show 3 weeks later on August 25th and have played 20 shows total thus far. It’s been a whirlwind of ups and downs for sure, but mostly it’s been “ups.”
As some of you may already know, Nadia will no longer be playing with us. The show this Saturday will be her last. For now, anyway. We won’t rule out her playing every now and then, but she will no longer be a full member of the band due to multiple circumstances, most notably a personal decision to cut back as she also works a full time job, so personal time was basically non-existent between the job and Wavvy Hands for her.
We’ve been blessed by having our friend Jon Miller fill in for us already on one show and he will fill in when he can. Andrew and I may be playing some shows as a two-piece as well until we find a permanent replacement. A few more friends of Wavvy Hands have offered their services on an interim basis whenever they can, and we’re happy to accept.
Our debut EP “A Million Eyes” is finally finished and will be getting duplicated next week. You can preview it on our music page or on Facebook right now and pre-order it on our Bandcamp page. Every pre-order/purchase of the EP will help us with our extensive touring schedule for 2012, which kicks off next weekend with a mini-tour of Chicago, Milwaukee and Lansing. Andrew and I both have never been to Milwaukee or the state of Wisconsin in general, so it will be a fun adventure.
Speaking of touring, we’re making 9 stops in 10 days January 19-28 in Michigan (Mt. Pleasant, Ann Arbor, Flint), Ohio (Oxford), North Carolina (Greensboro & Asheville), Tennessee (Johnson City), Kentucky (Louisville) and Indiana (South Bend). Full details are on our “shows” page.
There are a lot of big plans in the works for 2012, including our 2nd EP, which will be coming out in April, more touring, some shows with some big national acts (like the one on February 21st at the Pike Room with Slow Club and Air Waves) and some festivals as well. We’ll be hitting new cities in addition to returning to towns that have already been so gracious to us like Marquette, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Houghton, South Bend, Lansing and of course our hometown of Mt. Pleasant.
To those who have already came out to a show, we really appreciate it. Keep showing your faces and we’ll keep making music for your ears. Tell your friends about us too. Word of mouth will always be the strongest form of promotion. To those who haven’t yet seen us play: what are you waiting for? Come see us at one of our shows soon, or at least check out our tunes.
Cheers. Have a safe and happy new year!
Corey
